A Granny Whammy...
Hey, everybody...im back!...i hope y'all didnt forget about me...anyways, ive returned to the wonderfully splendid island of american samoa...and here's my first post since my most excellent christmas vacation with my friends and family in snowless wisconsin...since i am so jet lagged (i just got off the plane last night), this will be a short post...which many of you were making fun of me cause thats what i always say...i got some other feedback about my blog, too...but ill tell ya about that later...for now, enjoy my brief post...and, yes, its gonna be brief...stop laughing...its true...no, i swear...totally short post coming right up...first of all, the following pics compose a gallery of different, unique, and one-of-a-kind grannies...confused?...well, lets just say that me, dana, charlie, shawn, ella, and my mom got a tad bit bored on my final day in town...we decided, very silly yet neman-like, to dress up as grannies...and we proceeded to have a blast doing it...we began this strangely hilarious and odd activity by dressing up ella in a afghan and glasses...the picture above is fricken funny...ella looks like such a cute grandma...she resembles yoda...we'll call her the mini-granny...anyways, out of all the great things i did while i was back at home (hotels, movies, malls, restaurants, chicago, etc.), this was one of my most favorite...it was just one of those weird moments that my family has every once in a while where we'll act like clowns and laugh ourselves silly...a moment of creative nuttiness and comforting eccentricity...where we laugh at eachother and ourselves while doing nothing, really, at all...its like seinfeld...those moments of real nothingness (yet they really are something!) are sometimes the most amusing and the most memorable and the most poignant...i dont know why but i love these moments...and, sometimes, nothing can beat'em...not even a meal at jack's cafe...or a dance party at the round barn ;-)

this is charlie...the pretty granny...
and dana...i think we referred to her as the homeless granny...i guess because it kinda looks like she's on something...but i think special-ed granny could be her name as well...
thats me... my name is botox granny...look at that wrinkle-less, tight, skinny old face...im one sexy granny...but, of course, the botox has caused an inability to move my lipsticked lips...a small price really for this granny...
here's shawn as big lipped granny...(i couldnt think of any other names for her)...shawn really liked her big lips though...i think its kinda disturbing...in fact, i think i just got bells palsy just lookin at it...
nelly as furry granny...she looks so studious...like she's about to recite some shakespeare or something..."to woof or not to woof"...
and this is scary granny...its my mom...but i still have nightmares of this picture...she looks so freaky...and strict...her burning eyes pierce into my soul...maybe her name should be demonic granny...alright...before i leave i just wanted to thank everybody for giving me such a nice vacation and fitting me into your hectic schedules...i know i sometimes felt stressed or annoyed that so many people wanted to see me, but i do feel so happy that i have such cool friends and family, and i will miss you all...so yeah...no more cheese...just thanks for everything...and im already eager to see you all again during summer...i will put pics up of my trip home in random, future posts...i will also, hopefully, be putting them on kodak easy share...so if you want any pictures, you can get them there eventually...but this week is already looking to be pretty darn busy, so yeah...
ill post again either tomorrow or wednesday...ill write a little more about my emotions on going home and coming back to the island...but i think im still kinda processing them right now...there was a lot on my mind as far as how i felt to be back home...and about returning to american samoa...but ill discuss those with ya later...watch out for some new obsessions and a new weekly list, too...
okay...bye...remind all your friends and family that im back and writing again on my blog...and leave messages for me...though i may seem strong and confident, i still need to know that y'all are out there and are thinkin about me...yes, i am a weak, sad, little man...but y'all make me feel so big :-)
-JOE
p.s. maybe shawn, dana, mom, or charlie (or whoever) can leave some messages about other moments like the one above...you know, those memorable moments where we acted like fools and giggled til we peed...
p.s.s. check this church out...its bringing grey's anatomy into its services...kinda clever idea...i mean, there are always interesting moral dilemmas brought up in that show...my new slogan to live by?...WWDMSD...(What Would Dr. McSteamy Do?)...

what about your picture with spongebob?
Hi-
Joe i swear God is going to strike you down w/ Bells Palsy someday and you will be so sad that you relentlessly picked on my traumatic disease. That was fun- sometimes the bored moments are the best moments- where you are faced to make up fun.
The Granny Whammy's were hilarious--you guys are too funny! I agree, the one of your Mom is scary--it doesn't even look like her.
Great seeing you over the holidays, Joe.
