Diabolical Joe...

hey, whats up?...y'all?...im doin alright here in south pacific land...nothing really new...same old, same old...so this blog entry should be short...but lets quit with the small talk, and get on to the good stuff...

first, id like to warn all the people that didnt post messages in my last blog...since they diliberately disobeyed me, those people now have embarassing pics of them for the entire universe to see...i know, im evil...you guys didnt think id do it, didja?!...well, i did...im diabolical like that...mean...and unfair...and wicked...im sorry to those people...but next time, post a damn message!...ill save those nasty little pics for later on...

for now, the above picture is of williams house in the lions park government housing in tafuna...its obviously kinda dark...i went over to his house with some friends on saturday night...to play cards and drink...anyways, i wanted to show some pics of his house because i may be living there soon...if i do stay to teach here next year, i wont have a roommate anymore...so im guessing the DOE will move me to this housing area...with houses like williams...and its a lot different!...im gonna have to get used to lizards and roaches and ants and termites all over again!...and that might suck...the houses are pretty much small little cabins...which, in a way, i kinda think is cool...i love camping...and i think a change would be good...i mean, im extremely bored with the island, so having a new home and making it a cozy, safe, and comfortable home might be something exciting to do...as sad as that sounds...but like i said, our house now in fagaima is a luxury compared to these rundown shacks...our house is dynasty...williams is, lets just say, maybe little house on the prairie...

as you can see, his house is just a square of windows...almost like a small screen porch/deck youd see attached to someones house...everyone and their mother can see straight in his windows...he has some coverings for his bedroom, but the rest of the house is open for the whole island to see...but, surprisingly, its kinda quaint...and rustic...

guess what?...the other day i was walking to school in the morning...it was raining and flooding all over the place (like always)...i was at a pretty busy intersection near the school when all of a sudden a car hit me!...yes, i got hit by a car!...can you believe that poo?...im just strolling to school, probably humming and looking forward to my micky d's coffee...and then a car up and bashes into me...i realize half of you are probably laughing, but ill reassure the people out there that actually care about me that i was not hurt...i walked away from the scene intact and fine...i was just a little frazzled and discombobulated...and my ankle, which was healing slowly, got hurt again...you see, i was crossing a road when this car that was supposed to stop didnt...i dont know if he slipped on the wet road or if he just wasnt paying attention...but he struck me and i fell onto his hood...i brushed my shoulders off and kinda gave the guy a foul look...im guessing it was hilarious to see...i mean, im sure tons of drivers were giggling their heads off after they saw that i was okay and just kept strolling along after it happened...a ton of cars stopped to see if i was safe...i said, "yes" and went on my way to school...it was kinda scary...i coulda died!...but im actually kinda happy that it happened...i can now say i was hit by a car!...how awesome is that?!...everyday my experiences on this island make me more and more rad, man...i got hit by a car!...

this is williams living room...its so dorm-like, isnt it?...but kinda cabiny too...i like that...it even has a tiny loft...

My Top Five Obsessions of the Week:

5. Mark and Amanda on Ugly Betty = these two flamoboyantly selfish and wildly snobbish characters are also fabulously funny...i wanna hump both of them!...theyre hella mean to everybody (quote of the week: "amanda, isnt there anyone with a cold sore you can go make fun of?!"), but their crazy hilariousness makes you wanna be their best friend...and thats the brilliance of the characters...i know theres some betty haters out there, but maybe the following clip will prove to you all why im obsessed with ugly betty...and let me just tell you it was difficult to find just one clip of this comic duo...theres so many!...

4. The McDonalds Snack Wrap = these are so my favorite thing at mcdonalds right now (goodbye ten piece!)...i actually had two the other day...one for lunch...and one for a late dinner...how fatty is that?...i dont know what it is about this rather simple delight...is it the chicken?...the tortilla?...the yummy cheese and mayo?...or do i only like them because i dont feel that obese after eating them?...whatever it is, move over big mac...cause the snack wrap has been born!...

3. Dashboard Confessional = sure, this mellow music is so the O.C....and so nick hoskins and erin conant...but im goin through a phase, okay?...and im loving this california rock, coldplay-ish angsty band...their cool, calm, and catchy tunes remind me of summer...the freedom...the romance...the warmness...the beachiness...the youthfulness...its all in their anguishy songs...download some of their tunes...or even buy an album...yes, theyre that good!...and dont even get me started on their cover of REM's night swimming and everybody hurts...i wanna be a teen again!...

2. SNL's Dakota Fanning Show Skit = everybody knows i have been obsessed with saturday night live...well, in the past...the last few years of this sadly has-been show havent been very amusing or memorable...or even interesting...besides maybe their chronic-cles of narnia skit and the recent justin timberlake dick in a box skit, this funny show has become, well, not funny...and that sucks...in my opinion, they need a fresh cast...the current one is just not workin...but this skit from a couple of weeks ago is actually pretty hilarious...makes me long for the good ole days of mike myers and will ferrell...

1. The Handmaid and the Carpenter by Elizabeth Berg = this wonderfully romantic and thoughtful book about joseph and mary (yes, those legendary parents of jesus himself) has made me look at their classic spiritual story in a totally pristine and unique light...i wish i wouldve been taught the story according to this book, instead of the mysteriously detached, impassive, and foreign bible...im sorry, but the original tale doesnt have nearly as much heart or emotion or sincerity than this book...its told from the young couple's point of view, in a way...and now i know the true meaning of their story...of mary's bravery and joseph's faithfulness...i now understand their love for eachother and for their baby...i still dont believe their story ever happened (at least, the whole angel thing), but i can now see why their story has touched millions of lives...except i think this is the book that should be touching people...its real and honest and insightful...and beautiful...
